Best Presearing Prof?
What is the best prof to solo pre northlands with? I know it used to be e/r so you could have a lvl 20 pet that tanks as you nuke, but now iwth the nerf to charm, what do you guys think would be the best?

I'm using a Me/R - decent heals and a pet to help with damage. (I started soloing the Northlands around level 10)
P.S. If you have access to the fire imp, you're set for life! |

I use a W/R the extra armor is nice (not much for pre but every lil bit helps) then i'm using ignite arrow and dual shot then troll unguent which can get just as strong as healing breeze from a monk. and i also have a pet which helps as they attack him first i can slam em with dual shot+frenzy lol. also i have the fire imp which makes for a 3 man team, but then to make it better i got a mini aatxe to scare the charr with LOL.
g/l with whatever you decide on mate each profession has strengths and weaknesses over the next one so choose what is most suited for you. |

I find necro to be really really easy. deathly swarm packs a great punch, life siphon is pretty good to add some pressure to the monks. Plus minions are great tanks once you get them at the same level as the Charr. I find it's a little hard to keep the healing up, but if you go /R then Troll+Pet will help a lot more. right now i'm /E for Firestorm. But with the imp and at least 3 minions, I can eventually take on the whole charr boss groups at once, as long as i can keep at least 3 minions up.

I've not seriously undertaken LDoA yet, but friends who have stated that Elementalist or Monk was easiest, for Fire Storm and Symbol of Wrath respectively. Most people I know also chose /Ranger for the pet for the tanking potential. Note that you don't need to accept Ranger as your secondary to have a pet, and that Beast Mastery doesn't increase the tanking potential of your pet, except for the amount healed by Comfort Animal.
Stay away from Warrior and Ranger if you do not have bonus pack weapons for them, or unless you are looking for a challenge.

My mes has had an easy time in pre as Me/N, iirc lvl 6 was not difficult to solo the area with care. They are squishy but Domination is fun. Just wish an active way of obtaining LDoA existed.

My ranger has a fairly easy time soloing the Northlands, but of course, this is with the Nevermoore Flatbow and Darksteel Longbow, pet and fire imp. I suppose it wouldn't be too difficult if you played a bit on the defensive side if you didn't have the max weapons available, but make sure that you have a pet that can take a considerable amount of damage.

I think eles and necros personally, but with the introduction of the Fire Imp summoning stone ANY profession can do it incredibly easily now.

Ok my Fav area of the whole game! I have 12 toons in pre.
My highest is a W/R lvl 18 91% to next lvl with a lvl 20 strider and a lvl 18 Fire imp. I yield a Glacial Blade 15-22 dmg customized for extra 20% damage and a pommel of charrslaying 18% and a STRENGTH shield NOT THE BONUS ONE. - Put those other attribute point is SWORD. This is my most effective toon for charr killing. I can do a solo clear with 0 chance of death with the pattern I have developed before there was a fire imp. MONK - Monks are nice to have around but very ineffective if 2 groups happen to be agro'd. Symbol of Wrath will take care of the Char War's in no time flat but health regen is going to be a problem because of the Chaot's that remove Healing Breeze and other enchantments. Mesmer - There are not enough good skills - class is pressure dealing and degen. In a party of 2 your going to die..alot at first. Necro - Mini Miniion Mastors are great at higher lvls. They provide for meat shields in most cases. Armor is an issue. This is a run and hide class until higher lvls are gained. Also the Minions are stupid and can agro the WHOLE shrine all at once. Rangers - Troll Ungent can NOT be removed. This is the BEST healing in pre. It was better before the nurf but still effective. Armor is Quite HIGH and has one of only 2 Area of effect skills (AOE) and that is Ignite arrows. VERY Effective with the bonus bows (there are 2 bonus bows in pre available) Pets are also very nice. You can death lvl a Strider to lvl 20 in about 3 hours with good spawn and a vampiric weapon at lvl 18. War - Is effective with a good weapon - GW:EN expansion give MAX damage sword HUNTERS kill wars FAST! Kill these first if you are a war - then CLAW's cause you attack oh so painfully slow - cup cakes if you have them... and lastly ELEMENTAL - The best skill in all of pre is "firestorm" this can kill a charr group while hidding behind a hill or wall or whatever. Also the Aura of Restoration is very effective to heal as you kill. So the best class for fast killing solo at lowest lvl charr would be... Ranger/Ele Yes I realize that I am a W/R. Troll ungent is very very effective when combined with Aura. Use the Burning arrows to just mash them charr to burnt charr. throw in some Firestorm and your cook'n! Do I have a Ranger higher lvl in pre??? nope. That does not change the fact that your skills are what kills the charr. If you are looking at LOW LVL charr killing ranger/ele has it hands down. For super fast clearing at lvl 20 the NERO I ran with once was sick. He agro'd the whole shrine and just kept raising minions and stood there taking no damage at all. As for me, I love the in your face of a war but I kill the HUNTERS then the CLAWS and then the Shaman in that order. So pick a class that you really enjoy using and then do some runs. Now there were people that have been in pre BEFORE the fire imp and we learned a "pattern run" so that at lvl 8-10 of any class you can solo the charr. Throw in the fire imp and I think I could easily solo with a r/ele at lvl 8. So pick a class that you really enjoy using and then do some runs. If you want to learn the old school run.. pm me.
